The Invisalign 5 Step Process

The initial Invisalign Consultation

Step 1

We conduct an assessment to determine if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign. Then we will discuss your orthodontic needs and expectations. Finally, we create a treatment plan that best suits you and your lifestyle.

Invisalign 3D scan

Step 2

We will take digital scans of your teeth to help create your personal treatment plan. We use the iTero® digital scanner, which results in better-fitting and more comfortable aligners.

You will see an immediate simulation of how your teeth will look after treatment. Invisalign will receive your case within 15 minutes, ensuring a much faster return of your aligners.

Step 4

Your will receive your series of aligners (3-4 sets at a time). You must wear these everyday and switch to the next aligner approximately every two weeks.

The number of aligners needed varies according to each patient’s needs. This is usually between 14 – 36 aligners . Treatment is usually completed in 10 months or less.

Regular dental check up during Invisalign Treatment

Step 5

You will visit us every 6-8 weeks to check your treatment progress and receive your next set of aligners.

The Clear Aligners

The material used to manufacture your sets of aligners make them more comfortable to wear. They are also easier to put on and remove.

You will wear the aligners for 22 hours a day, so comfort is important.

Before and After Treatment

Terrie came to O’Neill Dental Care for a combined Invisalign and Composite bonding treatment. The set of clear aligners gradually straightened Terrie’s teeth. We used composite bonding to repair minor chips, staining, and wear in the teeth. After only twelve months, Terrie’s treatment was complete, and she was delighted and happy with her new smile.

    Frequently Asked Questions about Invisalign

Invisalign costs between €3695 and €4495 depending on the type of Invisalign treatment you need. Discounts are available depending on the payment plan you choose.

Treatment is usually completed in 10 months or less, depending on the severity of the case.

Your dentist will make a final assessment to ensure everything has turned out as planned. A custom-made retainer will be provided to protect the alignment of your teeth. Initially you will wear this all day and slowly reduce down to only wearing it at night. This will ensure the benefits of your treatment are long lasting.

Invisalign gradually moves your teeth into the desired position using a series of clear plastic aligners. Each aligner in the series moves your teeth a little further than the previous aligner. Your unique set of aligners straighten your teeth.

Invisalign is an effective treatment for correcting mild to moderate cases of crowding, spacing, misalignment and bite issues. Your compliance with the treatment program is critical to ensure the effectiveness of Invisalign. You must follow the dentist instructions and wear the aligners as instructed.

It is generally not recommended to drink coffee while wearing Invisalign. Coffee will stain the aligners, making them more noticeable. Hot drinks can also warp the plastic material, making them less effective. Food, sugars and milks can get trapped behind the aligner which can cause tooth decay.

Yes. The aligners can be removed. It is recommended that you remove the aligners when you are eating and drinking. After eating you should clean your teeth and put the aligners in again.

Yes. You can whiten your teeth during Invisalign. Your dentist will provide you with whitening gel that is compatible with Invisalign aligners.
